Abstract: The article examines the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic with respect to its compliance with the provisions of the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Additional Protocol I of 1977 on the repression of grave breaches. It outlines the theoretical background of grave breaches and gives precise recommendations on what war crimes need to be included in the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and what amendments are to be made in order to follow the obligations of the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocol.
