Abstract: Supply chain management deals with the allocation of scarce resources in the most efficient way in order to reach global efficiency in managing production, distribution, and retail facilities involved in the process of supplying the consumers with the products they demand. Usage of technology is one of the key enablers of a successful supply chain management. Decision support systems (DSS) play such a role. A DSS supports the human decision maker in the decision making process. Implementation of such a DSS tool by VESTEL Durable Goods Marketing in their distribution resource planning process is analyzed and presented in this study.
